I’ve heard this
word a thousand times and wondered what it really means until God led me to His
words in Psalms 103:10 “He does not treat us our sins deserve” but giving us what we do not deserve – a gift from God which we cannot earn and which
we cannot lose, for it is God’s unconditional love - Grace! It seems so unfair sometimes because
it costs nothing for the receiver but cost EVERYTHING for the giver. It is selfless. And it is by this grace
that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:8) – believing
that God indeed gave His Son to pay for our sins; that He did that because He
loves us. Jesus took upon Himself the punishment that we deserve to give to us,
if we believe in Him, the forgiveness of sins, new life and eternal life that
we don’t deserve. This is grace – you know it and can easily describe it if you
have received his grace, yet still hard to define.
